John F. Byrne Golf Course is one of the most respected courses in Philadelphia. Purchased by the City in the early 1960s, it was renamed after famous Philadelphia councilman, John F. Byrne. The First Tee of Greater Philadelphia has taken over operating the course as of November 1st.
To continue to ensure equal access and opportunity for our community members, The First Tee will invest over $600,000 of funds in John F. Byrne plus an additional $400,000 of in-kind work/service into the property over the next 3 years. During this time, you will see dramatic change and progress to provide players with an enjoyable experience and one the community, City of Philadelphia and First Tee are proud of. Any donations will help us reach our goals. Together and with your support, more children in the area will graduate high school and continue on to post-secondary education.
